Danny Brench

Danny came to Cornwall some forty five years ago and for ten years worked as a pig buyer for a farmers pig marketing group. ln the mid seventies a change in career direction was called for and he went to work for the china clay industry now called Imerys where he became a shift captain running a production shift.

He'd always been interested in wood and making things from wood and it was a short step when he retired to take up the creative hobby of wood carving learning from the St Austell college Adult Education evening class where he later took over as tutor.

Footnote

Sadly, Danny died in 2012. He was a much valued member of Cornwall Woodcarvers both for the high quality of his fine carvings and for his irrepressible sense of humour. He is sorely missed by those of us who were privileged to know him as a friend and colleague.
